Punjab Schools Get Satellite Internet

The Punjab government of Punjab (Pakistan) has launched an exciting new project to give thousands of schools across the province access to high-speed internet through satellites in space. This satellite internet initiative, inaugurated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aims to bridge the digital divide by providing internet connectivity even in remote areas.

The pilot project is a team effort between the Punjab government, international satellite internet company OneWeb, and UAE-based firm ADM Holding. Leaders from the UAE explained how important satellite internet is for improving digital access in areas lacking traditional internet infrastructure.

With satellite internet in classrooms, students – whether living in big cities or far-off villages across Pakistan – will be able to tap into a world of online educational resources. This initiative supports nurturing young talent and driving technological innovation across Punjab.

Beyond just internet access, the Pakistan government is also equipping students with laptops and training them with digital skills to survive in today’s tech-driven society. Officials are optimistic that this ambitious project will open new doors of learning for the Punajb’s youth.
