Punjab Government to Give Rs. 2.5 Million to Every School
The Punjab government has announced that it will give Rs. 2.5 million to each government school in the province. This funding aims to improve school buildings and facilities, making them better for students and teachers.
The money can be used for projects like upgrading science labs, painting, and building new classrooms. School Management Councils will oversee how the funds are spent, and the government has made the spending process easier by introducing new rules.
Before this, schools could only spend up to Rs. 200,000, and accessing funds involved paying high taxes. Now, with this larger grant, schools will have more resources to make meaningful changes.
This grant is separate from the usual Non-Salary Budget (NSB) that schools get every three months. The Rs. 2.5 million is a one-time payment designed to bring big improvements to schools across Punjab.
This step shows the governmentโs effort to support education and create better learning environments for students.
