CSS Urdu Literature paper carries 100 marks as an optional subject. It tests candidates’ understanding of classical and modern Urdu literary traditions. Students must obtain at least 33 marks to pass this examination.

The paper covers major genres of Urdu literature. It includes poetry (nazm and ghazal), prose (afsaana and novel), and drama.
