Master’s Applicants

  • Travel: Round-trip airfare between your home country and the UK (dependents and pre-award travel not covered).
  • Tuition: Full tuition fees covered by the scholarship.
  • Living Allowance: Monthly stipend of £1,347 or £1,652 (higher for London universities).
  • Warm Clothing Allowance: Provided if applicable.
  • Study Travel Grant: Covers travel within the UK or overseas for study-related purposes.
  • Child Allowance (Single Parents):
    • £576.61 per month for the first child under 16.
    • £143 per month for the second and third children under 16 (living with you in the UK).

Ph.D. Applicants

  • Fieldwork Support: Economy class airfare for approved overseas fieldwork.

How to Apply for the Commonwealth Scholarship

Application Process for Masters

Step 1: Apply through CSC’s Online System

  • Applications must be submitted via the CSC’s online platform.

Step 2: Fill Out the Application Form

  • Provide details of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
  • List up to 10 publications and prizes.
  • Detail employment history, explaining its relevance to the intended program in the UK.
  • List three referees, including one current employer and two references.
  • Include a Development Impact statement covering various aspects.

Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents

  • Proof of citizenship or refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Full transcripts of all higher education qualifications, with certified translations if not in English.
  • References from at least two individuals, in PDF format.
  • A supporting statement from a proposed UK supervisor.
  • Confirm award objectives and how the Scholarship program meets them.
  • Outline career plans for the five years post-Scholarship.
  • Provide long-term career plans.
  • Offer a detailed study plan.
  • Write a personal statement highlighting contributions and motivations.
