The CSS European History paper carries 100 marks as an optional subject. It explores major political and social transformations across Europe from the late 18th to the 20th centuries. Candidates must secure a minimum of 33 marks to pass.

The paper begins with the French Revolution (1789) and its radical ideals. It covers Napoleon’s rise, his reforms, and the eventual collapse of his empire. The Congress of Vienna (1815) and the conservative restoration are examined in detail.
