The CSS History of USA paper carries 100 marks as an optional subject. It traces America’s development from colonial times to global superpower status. Candidates must obtain at least 33 marks to pass this examination.

The paper begins with the British colonial period (1606-1783), covering early settlements and growing tensions. It examines the American Revolution and the struggle for independence (1775-1783). The critical period of nation-building (1783-1819) receives special focus, including the drafting and implementation of the Constitution.
