CSS Muslim Law & Jurisprudence paper carries 100 marks as an optional subject. It examines the principles and applications of Islamic legal theory and practice. Candidates must score at least 33 marks to pass this examination.
The paper begins with the primary and secondary sources of Islamic law (Quran, Sunnah, Ijma, Qiyas). It covers the evolution of major schools of Islamic jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, Hanbali). Family law matters including marriage, divorce and inheritance form a significant component.
