What Is the Fulbright BioLAB Scholarship?

The Fulbright BioLAB Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded one-year research traineeship program for graduate students in life sciences, biophysics, and medical research. It offers around 40 placements each year at prestigious U.S. laboratories, such as the University of Virginia, the University of Chicago, and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

The program builds scientific collaboration between Poland and the United States while providing young researchers with access to advanced laboratories, international experience, and the chance to contribute to groundbreaking projects in health, biotechnology, and environmental sciences.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (Licencjat or Inżynier).
  • Be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Poland during the entire program.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 4.0 in the Polish grading system (recommended).
  • Demonstrate English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Be eligible for F-1 or J-1 visas.
  • Provide two recommendation letters from academic supervisors or mentors.
  • Show laboratory skills or prior research training.
