Here are the Main structures of Human Kidney:

  1. Medullary pyramids: Cone-shaped regions in the inner part of the kidney, responsible for concentrating urine.
  2. Renal columns: Extensions of the cortex that project down into the medulla.
  3. Renal cortex: The outer layer of the kidney, containing millions of filtering units called nephrons.
  4. Renal pelvis: A funnel-shaped cavity in the center of the kidney that collects urine from the calyces.
  5. Ureter: The tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder.
  6. Renal capsule: The outermost layer of the kidney, protecting the delicate inner structures.
  7. Calyces: Cup-shaped structures that collect urine from the nephrons.
  8. Renal artery: Supplies blood to the kidney.
  9. Renal vein: Drains blood away from the kidney.
