National Skills University Earns International Recognition for Vocational Excellence
written by Sidra BatoolNational Skills University Islamabad (NSU) has been recognized internationally by earning the “Committed to Excellence” certificate and badge from the International Self-Assessment Tool for Centres of Vocational Excellence (ISATCOVE).
This recognition, supported by the European Commission and organized by the European Training Foundation (ETF), places NSU among leading institutions focused on improving vocational education to meet global standards.
In a letter to NSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mukhtar, the university was praised for completing the ISATCOVE self-assessment process. The letter highlighted NSU’s efforts to improve vocational education and said:
“The Committed to Excellence certificate and badge will recognize your school’s effort in actively engaging in ISATCOVE self-assessment to enhance your level of vocational excellence. This recognition is designed to encourage a culture of continuous improvement, helping institutions identify areas that need development and take meaningful steps toward achieving excellence in vocational education.”
ISATCOVE, launched in 2023, aims to raise global standards in vocational education and training. By 2024-25, it will support selected institutions with training, mentoring, and strategies to improve results.
Dr. Mukhtar thanked the university’s faculty and team, especially Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad and Ms. Spogmai Shahab, for their hard work over the last six months. He said:
“This milestone shows NSU’s strong commitment to providing the best in technical and vocational education. It is not just recognition but also motivation to continue improving and setting new standards.”
NSU is also working to strengthen its global partnerships. As a member of UNESCO-UNEVOC, the university promotes innovation, shares ideas, and builds networks to improve vocational education worldwide.
This achievement highlights NSU’s role in improving education and helping students prepare for careers in a competitive world.
