Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued a summary regarding HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed tenure extension. According to it, HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed got extended for one year as he completed his two-year tenure last week.

The Prime Minister Secretariat sent a letter to Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training on Tuesday stated “Re-appointment of the Chairperson of HEC…The Prime Minister is pleased to approve the re-appointment of Dr Mukhtar as Chairperson HEC for a period of one year with effect from 30th July.”

Dr Mukhtar Ahmed completed his 2 years tenure on July 29, 2024 as he was appointed at the same date in 2022.
