Punjab Schools to Introduce Practical Skills in IT, Health, and Agriculture
The Punjab government will launch technical education programs in public schools with the new academic year. These programs aim to equip students with practical skills in fields like information technology, health sciences, agriculture, and fashion design, starting at the middle and high school levels.
Khalid Nazir Wattoo, Punjab’s Secretary for School Education, has directed the printing of specialized textbooks for this initiative. Education officials have been instructed to gather data on the number of students enrolling in these technical programs.
The curriculum is designed to help students prepare for real-world challenges and career opportunities. According to Wattoo, the initiative will empower students to thrive in professional environments, ensuring they are ready to excel in their chosen fields.
This move highlights the Punjab government’s commitment to integrating technical education into public schools to better prepare students for future success.
