Summer Vacation Announced for Private Schools and Colleges in Islamabad

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (ICT-PEIRA) has announced the dates for the summer vacation for private schools and colleges in Islamabad. According to the notification, all private educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will remain closed for summer vacations from June 10, 2024, to August 12, 2024.
The announcement from ICT-PEIRA comes after similar decisions from other provinces regarding summer holidays. The Sindh Education Department has announced summer vacations for all private and public schools and colleges in the province from June 1 to July 31, 2024. Similarly, due to the prevailing heatwave, the Punjab government had earlier declared early summer holidays for all public and private schools, with schools in Punjab remaining closed from May 25 until August 15, 2024.
The ICT-PEIRA notification states that the decision to announce the summer vacation schedule for private educational institutions in Islamabad is based on the powers given to the authority under Section 5 of the Islamabad Capital Territory Private Educational Institutions (Registration & Regulation) Act, 2013.
All private schools and colleges in Islamabad have been advised to ensure compliance with the summer vacation schedule announced by ICT-PEIRA.
