Allama Iqbal Open University Approves New Courses and Degree Programs

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to start offering some new programs for students. This decision was made at an important meeting attended by the heads of different departments, senior officials, and some outside members.
The AIOU will now have Bachelor’s (BS) degree programs in Political Science, International Relations, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Environmental Studies. They have also introduced a short course to prepare for the IELTS English language test and a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Clinical Nutrition.
Apart from these brand-new programs, the university has also approved some changes to the names and content of several existing courses offered by the Faculties of Social Sciences, Education, Arabic & Islamic Studies, and Sciences.
Some other decisions were made related to examination systems, regional campuses, and academic planning at AIOU during this meeting as well.
The Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, instructed all the professors and deans to carefully follow the university’s rules and guidelines from the Higher Education Commission when designing these new courses and preparing study materials.
He welcomed the new members who joined the meeting and assured everyone that efforts would be made to keep improving the quality of education at AIOU.
“Before these new programs and changes can be officially started, they will need to be approved by AIOU’s Executive Council at their next meeting”, they said.
By adding more diverse academic programs, AIOU is giving students more flexibility to pursue the fields of study they are interested in.
