The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially announced the final result of the CSS Competitive Examination 2025, once again underlining the exam’s reputation as one of the toughest in Pakistan.

This year, a total of 12,792 candidates appeared in the written examination. Out of them, only 355 candidates passed, setting the written pass rate at just 2.77%. What this really means is simple: fewer than 3 out of every 100 candidates managed to clear the written stage.

From those who qualified, 170 candidates have been recommended for allocation to various occupational groups based on merit, available vacancies, and the quota system.

The gender split is notable:

  • 86 female candidates
  • 84 male candidates

Female candidates, in particular, showed strong performance this year. In a standout achievement, a specially-abled (blind) candidate secured the overall second merit position and was allocated to the prestigious Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS).

Top Allocations: PAS and PSP Dominate

According to FPSC, the top 30 candidates have been allocated mainly to:

Interestingly, none of the top 30 candidates were allocated to the Foreign Service, reflecting the current distribution of vacancies and priorities.

Provincial Breakdown of Top 30 in CSS 2025

The regional distribution shows a heavy concentration from one province:

Punjab: 23 candidates

Sindh: 2 candidates

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 2 candidates

Balochistan: 3 candidates

FPSC also acknowledged candidates who passed the written exam but could not secure allocation due to limited vacancies. Clearing CSS itself remains a major achievement, even without final placement.

The commission reiterated its commitment to merit, transparency, and equal opportunity, emphasizing that CSS continues to provide a fair platform for candidates across the country.

Candidates can access the complete result, merit list, and allocation details on the official FPSC website.
