What Does Factor Mean in Math?
A factor in math is any whole number that divide another number evenly without remainder.
That a factor of a number (N) in math always includes, 1 and itself (N)
What is a Factor?
A factor in mathematics is a number or algebraic expression that divide another number or algebraic expression evenly –without a remainder in other words,
If multiplying two whole numbers gives a product, then the number we are multiplying are factors of the product because they are divisible by the product. i.e(2×5=10)

There are two methods of finding factors:
Multiplication and division
In addition, rules of disability may also be used.
Example:
Find all factors of 4
Solution:
Step 1: write all the numbers from 1 to 4
1,2,3,4,
Step 2: check which of these numbers are divisible by 4 and leave no remainders.
4/1=4
4/2=2
4/3 not divisible
4/4=1
Step 3: the factor of 4 are 1, 2, and 4 because divisible by 4 and leave no remainders
2nd method
Find all factors of 4
1×4=4
2×2=4
4×1=4
The factor of 4=1, 2,4
Example:
Find all factors of 12
Step1: write all the numbers from 1to12
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12
Step 2: check which of these numbers are divisible by 12 and leave no remainder
12/1=12
12/2=6
12/3=4
.
.
Continue dividing 12 by each of these numbers
Step3: the factor of 12 are 1,2,3,4,6,12
Note:
That the factors of a number (N) in math always includes 1 and itself N.(i.e the factor number of 12 in math always includes 1 and 12)
