Examples of Veins
Here are few examples of veins:
1. Vana Cava
Vana cava is the most important example of vein. This is the largest vein in the body. It carries blood from the lower body and head back to the heart. There are two vena cavae, the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava.
2. Superficial temporal vein
Superficial temporal vein is an example of vein that runs along the side of the head, from the temple to the ear. It is often used for blood draws and IVs.
3. Internal jugular vein
Another example of vein is jagular vein. This vein runs along the neck, from the base of the skull to the collarbone. It carries blood from the brain and face back to the heart.
4. Subclavian vein
This vein runs from the armpit to the neck. It carries blood from the arm and shoulder back to the heart.
5. Femoral vein
This vein runs from the thigh to the groin. It is the largest vein in the leg.
6. Saphenous vein
This vein runs along the inside of the leg, from the foot to the groin. It is often used for blood draws and IVs.
7. Pulmonary vein
This vein carries oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the heart. There are four pulmonary veins, two on each side of the heart.Vena cava

This vein carries blood from the liver back to the heart. There are three hepatic veins, which drain into the inferior vena cava.
9. Portal vein
This vein carries blood from the digestive tract to the liver. It is the largest vein in the abdomen.
10. Cavernous sinus
This is a large vein in the skull. It drains blood from the brain and face.
