Difference between Square and Rectangular

Square

  • A shape with four equal sides and four right angles.
  • All angles are equal (90 degrees).
  • Perimeter = 4 x side length.
  • Area = side length x side length (or side length squared).

Rectangle

  • A shape with four sides and four right angles, but opposite sides have equal lengths.
  • Adjacent sides are equal in length and opposite sides are equal in length.
  • Perimeter = 2 x (length + width).
  • Area = length x width.
